AME THEATre

Will you step through?

what we do

AME THEATRE is an emerging theatre company exploring the potential of performers body, objects and spatial dynamics to tell stories and difficult truths. Working with openess and emotions we are interested in a theatre that asks questions about what it means to be human. Our work aims to embrace new people, views, stories and experiences so that the theatre we create reflects the world which creates us.

DEVISED PERFORMANCE

We make our own theatre projects as devisers and performers

WORKSHOPS

We share our skills and experience through a range of theatre-based workshops

MENTORING

We mentor student companies and emerging theatre artists

COMMISSIONS

We take on commisions in response to briefs from other theatre companies and creative organisations

Our work

AME THEATRE is trained in Lecoq pedagogy. We collaborate with a diverse range of people, companies and communities. We have worked with artists from around the world, in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America devising hundreds of original creations, along the way discovering common creative languages not reliant on words. Our approach to devising is non-hierarchical and our process centres around playfulness, presence and vulnerability.
